What is Phyllanthus Niruri Powder?

Phyllanthus niruri, known in India as Bhumyamalaki or Bhoomi Amla and in South America as Chanca piedra, is a small, slender herb that grows wild in warm, damp places. Its tiny leaves line the branches in neat rows, and its name "Bhumi Amla" means "amla of the ground" because the small round fruits hang under the leaves like tiny gooseberries. This powder is made from the dried whole herb, sun-dried and finely ground, with no fillers and no artificial additives.

Bhumyamalaki is a well-known Ayurvedic herb. It is described as a bitter, astringent, light and cooling herb, and it is taken in small amounts as a simple powder with water.
