Why Hormonal Imbalance Is So Common Today?

Hormonal imbalance is no longer rare in today’s modern lifestyle; it has become extremely common in youngsters. Conditions like PCOS affect many women worldwide and the symptoms often go unnoticed or ignored or may be diagnosed late.

  • Chronic stress

A note on dairy product in PCOS

If you have PCOS, I generally recommend reducing or avoiding regular cow's milk during your treatment. Because commercial dairy can spike insulin and increase androgens, which may worsen PCOS symptoms. If you prefer milk-based preparations, opt for A2 desi cow milk or plant-based alternatives like almond milk or coconut milk.

The Truth About Milk & PCOS

We all know or heard about that milk can worsen the PCOS problem, but did you know why? There is a scientific reason behind this, ant that is:

Insulin Response: Dairy products can trigger insulin release even without a high sugar content. In PCOS, insulin resistance is already a low, which can worsen hormonal imbalance.

IGF-1 (Insulin-like Growth Factor): Milk naturally contains IGF-1, which may increase androgen (male hormone) levels. Since we know androgen levels are already high in many women with PCOS issue, this can also increase the issue.

DHT Increase: Consumption of dairy products may stimulate DHT (dihydrotestosterone) production, which is linked to hair loss and acne in women with PCOS.

Inflammation: Many women who have PCOS problem may be sensitive to A1 casein protein found in regular cow’s milk, which can contribute to low-grade inflammation.

What Research Says?

Many medicinal practitioners and Ayurvedic doctors and researchers recommend reducing or avoiding dairy in PCOS. Especially if you are on treatment. Ayurveda itself recommend milk but only A2 milk (desi cow) not modern dairy milk.
