What is Vanshlochan?
Vanshlochan (Vamshalochana) is the Ayurvedic name for bamboo silica, a natural white deposit found inside the stems of the bamboo plant. It is also called Tabasheer and bamboo manna.
Is Tabasheer the same as Vanshlochan?
Yes. Tabasheer is the name used in Unani and Persian practice, and Vanshlochan is the Ayurvedic name. Both mean the same herb.
How do I take Vanshlochan powder?
Mix ½ to 1 teaspoon (about 1 to 3 g) with a little honey or warm water and take it once a day, usually after a meal. Start with ½ teaspoon if you are new to it.
Is it made from bamboo shoots?
No. It is the natural silica found inside the bamboo stem, not powdered shoots or leaves.
Can I take it every day, or with other medicines?
Many people take it once a day as part of an Ayurvedic routine. If you take regular medicines or have a medical condition, please talk to your doctor or pharmacist first.
