Black cardamom, clove and cinnamon, 2 percent each, ground into fine coffee. No sugar, no milk.

This is the boldest coffee in our range, so we are saying so up front.

Not the same as green cardamom

Black cardamom is a larger, dark pod, and it is known for a smoky aroma that green cardamom does not have. Clove adds a sharp, sweet-smelling bite, and cinnamon rounds them off. If you want something gentler, look at our Cinnamon & Fennel coffee.

Making a cup

Put 2 level teaspoons (about 6 g) into a cup, pour in 150 ml of hot water, stir, and let it settle for a minute. Use a filter or French press at the same ratio if you like. For iced coffee, stir it into 50 ml of hot water first, then add ice and cold water. The grind is fine, so a little sediment stays behind.

Questions

Is the smoky taste from added smoke flavoring?

No. There is no smoke flavoring in the ingredients list. The smokiness comes from black cardamom itself.

Is the clove too strong?

It is only 2 percent of the blend, the same as the other two spices, so it adds a note without taking over the cup.

Can I add milk?

Yes, add your own. We do not put any in the pouch.

Is there caffeine?

Yes, it is made with coffee. Check with your doctor first if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or on regular medicines. Not for children.
