What is Safed Musli Root Powder?
Chlorophytum borivilianum, known in India as Safed Musli or Shveta Musali and in English as White musli, is a small herb with narrow, grass-like leaves and clusters of white flowers. The plant grows from a bunch of fleshy, finger-like tuberous roots. In Ayurveda the root is the part used. This powder is made only from the dried root, sun-dried and finely ground, with no fillers and no artificial additives.
Shveta Musali is a classical Ayurvedic root. It is described as a sweet, heavy and cooling herb, and it is taken in small amounts as a simple powder with warm water or warm milk.
