Soft spice for slow sips

This is the quiet one in our range. Cinnamon and fennel each make up 3 percent of the blend, in equal amounts, so neither one shouts. If you find stronger spice coffees too loud, start here.

If you like licorice or anise

Fennel has a mild, licorice-like sweetness in its aroma, with no sugar involved. Together with cinnamon it gives the cup a cafe feel, a little like a spiced latte without the milk.

Brewing

Use 2 level teaspoons (about 6 g) for every 150 ml of hot water. Stir and wait a minute for it to settle, or use a filter or French press. For iced coffee, stir into 50 ml hot water, then add ice and cold water.

Before you buy

Are there whole fennel seeds in the cup?

No. The fennel is ground into the coffee, so you will not be chewing on seeds.

Is it sweet?

No. There is no sugar in it. Add your own sugar or milk if you prefer.

Will I taste the cinnamon more than the fennel?

They are equal in the recipe. Your own palate decides which one you notice first.
