Introduction
Constipation is referred to bowel movement that is hard and painful to pass. Late night work, unhealthy food & lifestyle, less intake of water, smoking and alcohol are the few causes of constipation.
But the main cause of constipation is digestion. Food will properly digest if your digestion is good, and your bowel is regular. But everything has messed up if you have a constipation problem.
In today’s fast-moving life constipation is a major problem found in most people. According to Ayurveda constipation on daily basis gets bowel polluted and creates harmful effects on our body.
If you ignore it in the early stage then it will create very serious complications or diseases like hemorrhoids, anal fissures or fecal impaction, and piles. People whose diets included a good quantity of fiber are significantly less likely to suffer from constipation.
That means if your tummy is healthy and happy you are also happy and free from all disease. Just taking care of a few things will help to keep away from constipation. In Ayurveda, there are a few home remedies that can help you to keep bowel movements regular.
Ayurveda Home Remedies for Constipation
- At night takes one glass of milk and add one dry fig or anjeer into four small pieces and boil with milk on low flame for half an hour. When this boiled milk is cool down, drink it and eat the fig or anjeer.
- Take 2 grams of ginger powder mixed with normal salt take this mixture with lukewarm water. This helps you keep away from constipation.
- Eat fruits like papaya & guava on regular basis they help to control constipation. And avoid junk food, spicy & oily food, pickles, smoking, and tobacco.
- Keep the copper jug filled with water for the whole night and drink this water in the morning before going to the toilet.
- Take one teaspoon of Amla/ Indian Gooseberry powder with milk or water at night. You can also take amla powder with honey.
- Take 10 grams powder of Tamarind Seed with lukewarm water.
- Take dry amla whole or Indian Gooseberry 4 grams, soak in water overnight, and in the morning mash the amla with hands and strain the water and drink it.
- Take half glass of orange juice and mix with some water and drink it, this will also give relief in constipation.
- Take 10 grams powder of Embelia Ribus Seed with lukewarm water.
- Take 5-10grams of Triphala powder which means (Amla, Harad, Baheda Powder) with Lukewarm milk or water at night. It also helps to relieve constipation.
- Try to avoid spicy food, pickles, oily food, and carbs food, and include fresh and raw vegetables and fruit in your diet.
- Take 1 tsp of Curcuma Amada powder with lukewarm milk, helps to cure diabetes and piles.
- Try to eat fresh Indian gooseberry.
- Try to drink one glass of mixed juice of beetroot and apple, helps to give relief from constipation.
- Try not to drink tea or coffee on empty stomach, especially in the morning. Drink at least one glass of normal water before consuming any of them.
- Take 5 grams powder of Babool bark twice a day with water after meal
- Take 5-10 grams of powder of Terminalia Bellirica with honey.
For Piles - Take a small plastic bathtub and fill it with Luke’s warm water. Then add Phitkari/ Alum powder and mix it well and then take this hot water fomentation on piles. Avoid oily and spicy food.
For Fistula: Take hot water fomentation in a tub and then gently apply virgin coconut oil on the affected area. Avoid eating garlic, onion, and spicy food.
These are the few methods that can help to cure constipation, and these are Ayurveda Herbs so no side effects. Try this instead of taking constipation pills, and powders.
Herbal Home Remedies for Acidity
There are some herbal remedies to cure acidity, they are safe and don’t have any side effects, you can easily make them at home.
- Take 2 grams of powder of each fennel seed and dry ginger, mix them, and take with water.
- Take 20 grams of fresh rosemary juice 2-3 times a day, helps to treat inflammation, pain, and vomit.
- Take 5 grams of Terminalia Chebula powder and mix with fresh amla juice, take this after lunch. Helps to cure acidity and stress.
- Take 15-20 grams of fennel seed and boil it with 100ml water, for half an hour, and strain the remaining water. Helps to cure acidity and pain.
- Take 5 grams of mulethi powder with water, helps to treat constipation and acidity.
- Take 1 tsp of apple cider vinegar and mix it in half a cup of water, drink this twice a day before meal. Helps to control acidity and heartburn.
- Take one clove twice a day after a meal and chew it slowly.
- Take 5 grams powder of both, Neem leaves and Amla, and 1 ½ cup of water. Mix it and put it on gas for 10 minutes. Strain it and drink.
- Take 2 grams Harad powder, honey, and jaggery powder, take this mixture after 3 hours of a meal.
- Take 10 grams powder of Embelia Ribus Seed with lukewarm water.
- Use buttermilk in your diet to avoid acidity problems.
- Try to reduce tea, coffee, and alcohol.
- Always drink one glass of water before consuming tea, coffee, or any other hot drink. It helps to reduce gas and acidity.
- Drinking tea and coffee on an empty stomach cause acidity problem, it’s better to eat any type of cookie, bread, or anything with tea & coffee.
- Drink one glass of cold milk without sugar or anything, gives relief from acidity.
